Georgie and Josefina ask, "What Would Luther Say?"

Georgie and Josefina ask, “What Would Luther Say?”

When baffled by a new subject or problem, Georgie and Josefina respond with, “Let’s ask Luther,” or “What would Luther say?” Whether unexpected or truth the girls hadn’t yet faced, Luther’s guidance and instruction are kind, wise and likely seeded with humor.

Like the time something happened before P.E. class and Georgie reacted—really, really reacted. At least that’s how it seemed to her.

Luther had said, “You are experiencing a perfectly normal reaction,” and handed her cold lemon water. “Who would not be shocked?”

“Exactly.” She uncurled an arm out of the tight ball she had wound herself into and accepted the glass.

He pretended not to see her dab at the corner of one eye with the back of her wrist as he took the facing chair. He patted her shoulder as he passed. “But you’re not normal, Georgie.”

“Excuse me?”

Meanwhile, the more the girls learn from Luther the more they want to know. Their minds are always whirring like spinning tops and sometimes hit a wall before they can figure out a thing on their own. This author suspects Josefina keeps a running list of questions in her phone.

Shawn Green is Georgie and Josefina’s best-friend-who’s-a-boy and a true cyber geek. He lives with his dad, Derrick, brother Earl, and Aunt Darlene. We often find Shawn hunched over the phone his dad uses to communicate with him when he and Earl are away testing special comms for the government. Shawn is not a fan of dodgeball.

New School

New School

Georgie’s new school is foreign. Obviously, it’s high school, so that’s new. She could get used to the crimson and gray, but what school makes their primary sport dodgeball? Maybe she is the foreigner in this town, born here but still the new kid.

Georgie Jones

Georgie Jones

Teen Georgie Jones has recently moved to live with her Dad after her life as she describes it, “tipped over and exploded”. The tipping over has left its mark, but hasn’t shattered her confidence—though she might admit to going over recent events in her mind. She has her new life to think about now, being the new kid at school, her new BFF’s, and…Andersen Light: A Mystic Creek Novelhouse.

Not Your Everyday Lightkeeper

Not Your Everyday Lightkeeper

Luther Andersen’s feet are planted squarely on earth, but his life is far different from the everyday human’s. Outer appearances would have you mistakenly believe he is merely a middle aged lighthouse keeper, yet no lightkeeper is average and it seems he’s been middle aged forever. People quickly learn there is more to him, though they may never know what that is exactly. He is highly regarded around the world and by local townsfolk as a mentor, professor, and good guy. You’ll easily spot Luther—he’s the tall lanky guy wearing the fishermen’s cap.

Luther Andersen

We first meet Luther Andersen as a student on break from university. But mostly we know him as a mystical lighthouse keeper, mentor and professor. Tall with black and silver hair and amazing blue eyes, he is what teenager Georgie calls, “buff for an old guy”.
